  • How are learners assessed?

SN Training assessment is conducted using a combination of written knowledge assessment, observation Assessment and case study response.

The following provides a brief explanation of the primary assessment methods:

    • Written Knowledge Assessment: The learner must provide a written response to a range of questions relating to the required knowledge of the units of competency. These short-answer response activities may include other questioning methods, including multiple-choice.
    • Observation Assessment: The learner will be observed performing specific tasks in a practical assessment activity. The assessor will observe the learner performing tasks relevant to the units of competency being assessed. The learner will be briefed on these observation activities and provided access to the required equipment and resources. After the activity, the learner will be debriefed on the assessment outcome.
    • Case Study Response: The learner must provide a written response to the situation presented in a case study scenario. This usually requires the learner to consider the situation carefully, conduct research to inform their response, and then propose their recommended actions.
  • I may require learner assistance. Can SN Training help me?

Yes, SN Training will contact you several times during your enrolment to determine if you require support. We do this by requesting that you complete enrolment documentation, which includes an initial core skills assessment and phone discussions.

One crucial objective of these engagements is understanding what support services you may need to participate fully in your study. You will be asked various questions about your support needs, which enable us to organise the appropriate support services. Maximise this opportunity, and let us know if you need support.
